Introduction
Identification:The head of the swallow-tail gull is dark gray to black. There is a white stripe across the upper portion of the bill, and there are red rings around the eyes.
Habitat:Wet costal areas, dry costal areas, Scalesia zone, Miconia zone, ocean
Diet:Carnivore: fish, squid
Reproduction:Swallow-tail gulls nest on bare cliffs. Males return to the same nest year after year, but females may change mates. One egg is laid by the female each season.
Social Structure:Swallow-tail gulls are found in large colonies during the breeding season. They are usually found in small groups.
Behavior:Feeding takes place 10-20 miles from the nearest island.
